In the icon of the Transfiguration of the Savior, Christ is depicted above Mount Tabor. Both His face and garments radiate the light of divinity. The glory surrounding Him is characterized by shades of blue, with golden details indicating its brilliance. In His halo appears the inscription "ό Ών" (One Who Is), emphasizing the ontological truth of God’s very being. The disciples Peter, James, and John, unable to look directly upon the divine nature of their teacher, are shown fallen on the ground, expressing awe and wonder before the divine revelation. To the right of Jesus there stands the prophet Elijah, while to His left there is Moses. The icon invites the believers to spiritual focus, faith, and participation in the Divine light of the Savior’s revelation.
