Christ is depicted “in glory”. It is a full-length, frontal representation that emphasizes His eternal and transcendent presence. He is seated on a throne, blessing the faithful with His right hand while holding an open Gospel in His left. His face is serene and solemn, expressing the peace of the heavenly Kingdom. He wears radiant garments, while their brilliance is highlighted by the glory that surrounds Him. Inscribed in His halo is the phrase "ό Ών" (One Who Is), which emphasizes the ontological truth of Christ the King. Around Him there is a multitude of angels within a blue frame. In the four corners of the icon, there are depicted the Evangelists: Mark as a lion, Luke as an ox, John as an eagle, and Matthew as an angel.
