The Synaxis of the Archangels is depicted in the Orthodox Christian tradition through the figures of Archangels Michael and Gabriel, along with the multitude of angels surrounding them. At the center of the composition, Jesus Christ is portrayed within a sphere, upheld by their hands. The archangels are dressed in richly adorned garments and hold spears, symbols of the power and protection they offer.
