Epitaphios "Lamentation"

The epitaphios is embroidered with rich floral ornaments and decorated with gold fringe. The scene of the Lamentation of Christ is framed by the troparion “The Noble Joseph”:

The noble Joseph, when he had taken down Thy most pure body from the Tree, wrapped It in fine linen and anointed It with spices, and placed It in a new tomb
