Epitaphios "Dormition of the Mother of God"

The epitaphios is embroidered with rich floral ornaments and decorated with gold fringe. The scene of the Dormition of the Mother of God is framed by the Exapostilarion of the Feast:

O Apostles from all the ends of the earth, who have gathered here in Gethsemane, bury my body, and Thou, my Son and God, receive my spirit
