A сloth made of red cotton fabric with gold embroidery.
The Holy Communion Cloth (Maktro) is a red-colored piece of cloth that the clergy use to wipe the lips of the communicants and the chalice during the sacrament of Holy Communion. Maktro symbolizes the chlamys in which the soldiers clothed Jesus Christ in the Praetorium and which was stained with the Holy Blood that flowed from His Body.
