Icon made on natural linden wood with water-gilding technique. After the thermal treatment, the wood was gilded with 22K gold leaf, in accordance with traditional Byzantine techniques. The icon has been painted with egg tempera for a higher quality and durability of the colors.
Saint Arsenios of Cappadocia is depicted frontally and dressed in hierarchical vestments. With his right hand he blesses the faithful, while in his left he holds a closed Gospel. His face appears serene, filled with wisdom and spiritual strength. According to his life, he was originally from Farasa in Asia Minor. He became a monk and lived an ascetic life until his repose in November 1924. The translation of his relics was carried out by Saint Paisios of Mount Athos.
