Proskomedia Cotton Cover

A сloth made of red cotton fabric with gold embroidery, which is used during the Liturgy of Preparation, also known as the Proskomedia. Embroidered on the cloth is an iconographic composition called the Ultimate Humiliation, or the Man of Sorrows — a symbol of the Passion, which leads to the ultimate humiliation of Christ and his death on the Cross, which he endured for the sake of man’s sins.
