The icon is made on a particle board with the use of the most advanced imprinting and production techniques. The background is decorated in a way that gives the impression of glossy gilding.
In Orthodox Christian iconographic tradition, Christ the “King of Heaven” is depicted frontally, clothed in radiant garments. With His right hand He blesses the faithful, while in His left He holds an open Gospel, the symbol of the world’s salvation. As the inscription states:
“My kingdom is not of this world; for this I was born and for this I have come into the world, that I may bear witness to the truth.”
In His halo appears the inscription "ό Ών" (One Who Is), emphasizing the ontological truth of God’s very being. Christ is shown as the One who truly exists, from whom all reality derives and gets shaped.
