The icon is made on a particle board with the use of the most advanced imprinting and production techniques. The background is decorated in a way that gives the impression of glossy gilding.
In the Orthodox artistic tradition, Christ as the “Great High Pries” (or Great Archpriest) is depicted enthroned, blessing the faithful. He is clothed in richly adorned hierarchical vestments, filled with elaborate patterns and impressive decorative details that signify His supreme priesthood. In His left hand He holds an open Gospel, bearing the inscription:
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
At the four corners of the throne appear the Evangelists: Saint Mark as a lion, Saint Luke as an ox, Saint John as an eagle, and Saint Matthew as an angel. Inscribed in His halo is the phrase "ό Ών" (One Who Is), which emphasizes the ontological truth of Christ the King, while on either side of Him stands the inscription:
“The King of Kings and Great Archpriest.”
