Set of two ribbons for dikiri and trikiri embroidered with the images of seraphs adorned with rich floral ornaments, and decorated with gold scalloped edges.
Church ribbons are used to decorate the candlesticks (dikiri or trikiri, depending on the number of candles) and the temple.
The top of each ribbon is embroidered with a ΧΡ ΑΩ christogram. ΧΡ forms an abbreviation for the name of Christ; the use of the Greek letters Α and Ω (Alpha and Omega) goes back to the text of the Apocalypse: “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8)
