Carved Wooden Neck Cross

This handmade carved wooden neck cross is crafted by the monks of Mount Athos. It is made from boxwood and mounted on a walnut frame.

The front side of the cross depicts the Crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ, framed with carved ornaments and surrounded by the inscription: ΙΣ ΧΣ ΝΙΚΑ ("Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς νικᾷ", translates as "Jesus Christ Conquers").

Inscription at the top of the cross: ΙΝΒΙ ("Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζωραῖος ὁ Βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων", translates as "Jesus, King of the Jews")

Inscription on the back of the cross: ΑΓΙΟΝ ΟΡΟΣ
