Carved Wooden Neck Cross

This handmade carved wooden neck cross is crafted by the monks of Mount Athos. It is made from boxwood and mounted on a walnut frame.

The front side of the cross depicts the Crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ, framed with carved ornaments. It is adorned with the Instruments of the Passion (Arma Christi, or "The Weapons of Christ"), namely the spear and the sponge.

Inscriptions on the front side: ΙΣ ΧΣ (Jesus Christ), СНЪ БЖIЙ (Son of God), ЦРЬ СЛВЫ (King of Glory)

Inscription on the back of the cross: ΑΓΙΟΝ ΟΡΟΣ

The cross is available with either a simple cord or a beaded one.
