Car Mirror Cross | Crucifixion

The front side of the cross bears the image of the Crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ, with the Mother of God on His right and John the Forerunner (John the Baptist) on His left. This composition is known as "Deisis", or "Deesis". The central meaning of such composition is the intercession of the Mother of God and St. John, pleading on behalf of humanity before the Lord. Inscriptions on the front side: ΙΣ ΧΣ ΝΙΚΑ ("Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς νικᾷ", translates as "Jesus Christ Conquers"), СНЪ БЖIЙ (Son of God), ЦРЬ СЛВЫ (King of Glory). Inscription at the top of the cross: ІНЦІ ("Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζωραῖος ὁ Βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων", tra,nslates as "Jesus, King of the Jews").

The main icon on the reverse side of the cross is one of the Mother of God holding the Divine Son. Surrounding Her on four sides are the images of saints.
