Sage is an herb with many medicinal properties. It has antibacterial, antiseptic, cardiotonic, antispasmodic and anti-diabetic effects.
In decoction form, sage is excellent for the treatment of pharyngitis, gingivitis, as well as various oral injuries. It improves memory, stimulates the nervous system and blood circulation. Decoction of sage helps with limb cramps, reducing symptoms and bringing relief.
An infusion of sage helps with dysentery, indigestion and stomach ulcers: soak it for a week in red wine (80 grams of sage for 1 liter of wine); 1 to 3 tablespoons of the resulting infusion is to be consumed after each meal.
