The icon is made on a particle board with the use of the most advanced imprinting and production techniques. The background is decorated in a way that gives the impression of glossy gilding.
The icon of the Dormition and the Assumption of Theotokos is one of the most significant representations in the Orthodox Christian iconography. In this particular depiction, the Virgin’s bier appears empty, as her body has been taken up into heaven. At the base of the composition, the Apostles are portrayed searching for Her, witnessing the reality of her Assumption. At the top, the Virgin Mary herself is shown seated on clouds, surrounded by the presence of the heavenly powers and the angels of the Lord.
